Indian Coast Guard Navik GD Syllabus, Selection Process and Pattern 1/2020:-

The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) is an armed force that protects India’s maritime interests and enforces maritime law, with jurisdiction over the territorial waters of India, including its contiguous zone and exclusive economic zone. The Indian Coast Guard was formally established on 18 August 1978 by the Coast Guard Act, 1978 of the Parliament of India as an independent Armed force of India. It operates under the Ministry of Defence.

Indian Coast Guard recruits students for the post of Navik GD and eligibility of this post is 10+2 passed with the Maths, Physics and Chemistry from an educational board recognized by the centre/state government with minimum 50% marks.

Navik GD Selection Process:-

  1. Written Test
  2. Physical Fitness Test
  3. Medical Examination

ICG Navik GD Exam Pattern:-

Exam pattern is as follows-

  • The written examination will be of objective type
  • Questions will be from 12th standers which will generally cover subjects such as Maths, Physics, basic Chemistry, knowledge of English, general knowledge, current affairs, quantitative aptitude and reasoning etc.
  • Language of questions will be Hindi and English
  • There is no negative marking for the wrong answer.

ICG Navik GD Physical Fitness Test:-

PFT will be conducted for all those who qualify the written tests. Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk. All candidates are advised to be in possession of sport rig (Shoe, T-shirt, Trouser etc). The PFT consists of:-

  • 1.6 Km run to be completed in 7 minutes.
  • 20 Squat ups (Uthak Baithak).
  • 10 Push up

After qualifying the Physical fitness test candidates are required to undergo Initial Medical Examination Test, that will be conducted at separate recruitment centre or any place decided by the commission.

The select list will be prepared for the candidates who qualify in all the tests depending upon the available vacancies. The Zone wise select list of candidates will be displayed in the Indian Coast Guard Website joinindiancoastguard.gov.in in the month of Jan 2020. Mere declaration of fit in the initial medical examination does not indicate selection of the candidate for the final medical at INS Chilka

Maths Syllabus:-

Relations and Functions, Conic Sections, Permutations and Combinations, Logarithms, Complex Numbers, Quadratic Equations, Sequences and Series, Trigonometry, Straight Lines, Circles, Vectors, Sets and Set Theory, Statistics, 3D Geometry, Differentiation, Integrals, Matrices, Determinants, Probability Function, Limits and Continuity.

Indian Coast Guard Navik (GD) Selection Procedure

Physics Syllabus:-

Physical World and Measurement, Dual Nature of Matter and Radiations, Principles of Communication, Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Heat Thermodynamics, Oscillations, Waves, Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Magnetic Effect of Current and Magnetism, Electromagnetic Induction and Alternating Current, Optics, Work, Energy and Power, Gravitation, Solids and Fluids.
