The Indian Navy SSR (Senior Secondary Recruit) Exam is a recruitment examination conducted by the Indian Navy for the recruitment of sailors for its non-technical branch. The Indian Navy SSR Exam is held twice a year, and it is open to unmarried male candidates who have completed their 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and at least one of the following subjects: Chemistry/Biology/Computer Science from a recognized education board.

Indian Navy SSR 1/2023 Phase 2 :-
Candidates who qualify for the written examination are then required to appear for the Physical Fitness Test (PFT), which consists of a 1.6 km run, push-ups, and sit-ups. The candidates need to qualify in each test to proceed further.

Candidates who clear the PFT are then required to undergo a Medical Examination to ensure they are physically and mentally fit for the job. The medical examination includes a physical test, eye test, and hearing test.
The final merit list is prepared based on the candidate’s performance in the written examination, PFT, and Medical Examination. Candidates who are selected in the final merit list are offered training at the Indian Navy Basic Training Center (BRTC) located in INS Chilka.
