Entry in Indian Navy After Graduation:

There is a total of three ways to join the Indian navy after graduation. One can appear for the exams that are given below to join the Indian Army as an officer:

  • CDS (Combined Defense Service) Examination.
  • INET (Indian Navy Entrance Test)
  • NCC Special Entry

Combined Defense Service:

This Exam is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission twice in a year. This is one of the best ways to join the Indian Navy after graduation. let’s see further details regarding the CDS Exam:

Eligibility Criteria of CDS:

  • You can apply for the CDS examination only after graduation.
  • The candidate should have passed 10+2 with physics and mathematics and have a degree in engineering/technical from any recognized Institute.
  • Candidate must have at least 60% marks in his graduation.

Age Limit for CDS:

  • For Indian Naval, A candidate age must be between 19-22 yrs old.

Selection Process of Combined Defense Service Examination:

A candidate will have to clear the three phases of tests and clearing each phase is mandatory. A candidate will appear for Written Exam which is conducted by the UPSE and the candidate who would qualify the Written Exam; they will proceed for the SSB Interview and then Medical tests. INET (Indian Navy Entrance Test):

The Selection Process of the Indian Navy Entrance Test is very simple and similar to the Combined Defense Service Examination. This Exam INET is very recently launched by the Indian Navy board for the selection of officers into the service.

The selection process of INET:

  • Written Exam
  • SSB interview
  • Medical test

Eligibility Criteria for INET:

  • Only graduates are allowed to apply for this Vacancy.
  • Candidate must have done B.E or B.tech in any discipline for any recognized Institute with physics and mathematics at 10+2 level.

Age Limit for INET

  • Candidate age must be between 19 to 24yrs old as per their class 10th mark sheet.

NCC Special Entry:

This entry is only for the candidate who has done NCC and has a ‘C’ division certificate with minimum B grade. they are eligible to apply for this. Here are the selection criteria and eligibility are given below:

Selection Process through Special Entry:

The selection of the candidate would be based on the marks scored in Graduation degree, the candidate who would get shortlisted through this; they will be called for the SSB Interview and then medical tests. The selection process would be like this:

Eligibility Criteria for NCC Special Entry:

  • A candidate must have NCC ‘C’ certificate with minimum B grade.
