Through the NDA Exam:-

NDA exam is only for male candidates who have 12th Class pass with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

The age of the candidates must be between 16.5 to 19 yrs old.

Through CDS Exam:-

The candidate should have passed 10+2 with physics and mathematics and have a degree in any discipline from any recognized Institute.

For AFA, the candidate age must be between 19-24yrs old.

Through the NCC Special Entry:-

Candidates should have obtained a minimum of ‘B’ Grade in the ‘C’ Certificate Exam of NCC. Applicants, who are not holding the NCC ‘C’ Certificate on the date of application, are not eligible to apply for the course.

And candidates also have degrees of a recognized University or equivalent with an aggregate of a minimum of 50% marks taking into account marks of all the years. Those studying in the final year are also allowed to apply provided they have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.

Ways to Join IAF as Non-Commissioned Officers:-

Air force Group X and Y Examination:

Through this entry, you can become an Airmen in the Indian air force. The Air force X group is for the Technical entry and the Y group is for the Non-Technical entry.  Let’s see the eligibility Criteria, Age Limit, and selection procedure of the Air force X group and Y group.

Eligibility for X and Y group of Indian Air force:

The Eligibility for each X and Y group is different because the X group is for the Technical group and Y is for the Non- technical group. I have given the Eligibility details of each group individual:

Group X (Except Education Instructor Trade):

• The candidate must have pass 10+2 with Mathematics, Physics, and English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English from any recognized board. or
• Three years Diploma Course in Engineering in any stream.

Group Y (Except Automobile Technician) Trades:

• The Candidate must have Passed Intermediate in any stream/subjects approved by Central/ State Education Boards with minimum 50% marks.
• The candidate must have  50% marks in English.
