RECIPIENTS OF AWARDS AND MEDALS IN THE 141st POP OF NDA
NDA 141st Passing Out Parade was held on 29th of October,2021. Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Manoj Mukund Naravane- PVSM, AVSM, SM, VSM was the chief guest of the POP OF NDA
The parade was organised keeping in mind all the protocols of the ongoing pandemic. Over a thousand cadets participated in the parade. Out of these 305 cadets were from the passing out course.
In the total strength of 305, 220 were army cadets, 41 naval cadets and 44 air force cadets. Also 19 cadets were from the friendly foreign countries. These countries include Bhutan, Tajik, Maldives, Vietnam, Tanzania, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, Srilanka, Myanmar, Turkmenistan, Sudan, Uzbekistan.
The cadets are now to go for their term break of 8 weeks. After the term break they are to join their academies of the respective services for their pre-commissioning training.
The meritorious cadets were awarded for their outstanding performance by the Reviewing Officer. The Reviewing Officer of this POP was the Chief of Army Staff.
The cadets who had out shown their potential received medals from General Manoj Mukund Naravane.
Academy Cadet Captain Vamshi Krishna was awarded the President’s Gold Medal for securing 1st position in the overall order of merit.
Battalion Cadet Captain Siripurapu Likhit was awarded the President’s Silver Medal for securing second in the overall order of merit.
Other than them, Battalion Cadet Captain Harshavardhan Singh was awarded the President’s Bronze Medal for securing third position in the overall order of merit.
On top of this the Oscar Squadron bagged the prestigious “Chief of Staff Banner” for being the Champion Squadron presented during the parade.
ABOUT NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY
The National Defence Academy (NDA) is the training institute of the Indian Armed Forces. It is a joint Defence Service Training Institute.
Cadets of the three services i.e. the Indian Army, the Indian Navy and the Indian Air Force get trained together before they go to their academies of their respective service.
After their training at the National Defence Academy they are to join the service academy for their further pre commissioning training.
The National Defence Academy is located at Khadakwasla, Pune- Maharashtra. It is also the first Tri-Service Academy in the world.
