What is IMA:-  

The Indian Military Academy (also known as IMA) is an officer training academy of the Indian Army located in Dehradun. It was established in 1932. From a class of 40 gentleman cadets in 1932, IMA now trains over approximately 400 gentleman cadets in a batch, with the total strength of the institution being 1650.

On completion of the course at IMA, gentleman cadets are permanently commissioned into the army as a Lieutenant. During the duration of the course, cadets are given a monthly stipend of Rs. 56,100/- (as per 7th pay commission).

How to join IMA Through NDA Examination?

NDA stands for National Defence Academy and this exam is conducted by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) twice in a year. After clearing the examination you have to go through the SSB Interview. After qualifying both stages of the examination you will be given the option for choosing the IMA, INA, OTA and AFA. and according to your performance in the examination you will be allotted the above Academy.

How to join IMA Through CDS Examination?

CDS stands for Combined Defence Services and this exam is conducted by the UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) twice in a year. After clearing the examination you have to go through the SSB Interview. After qualifying both stages of the examination you will be given the option for choosing the IMA, INA, OTA and AFA. and according to your performance in the examination you will be allotted the above Academy.

How to join IMA Through ACC Examination?

ACC Stands for Army Cadet College. ACC exams conducted by the Indian Army for those who are also serving in the Indian Army as a Soldier. so this is an internal recruitment process and this is not for outside of Indian Army. But for the recruitment of Officer in the Indian Army from the Soldier through ACC, aspirants have to give written examination and also face SSB Interview Like NDA and CDS examination.
