Rajputana Rifles and Rajput Regiment:-

Army type and their centre:-The Rajputana Rifles serves as an infantry regiment in the Indian Armed Forces. The centre of this regiment is located at Delhi Cantonment. Whereas the Rajput Regiment is one of the oldest regiments of the army and is an infantry. The headquarters of this regiment is located at Fatehgarh, Uttar Pradesh. It’s a line infantry.

Uniform:- The soldiers of Rajputana Rifles wear the uniform of green colour and a black belt with rank stripes. Soldiers of the Rifle Regiment wear light green uniforms.

The war cry of Rajput Regiment and Rajputana Rifles: – The War Cry of the battalion of Rajputana Rifles is Raja Ram Chandra ki Jai. Whereas his motto and principle sentence areVeer Bhogya Vasundhara. This means that only brave and powerful people can consume this earth. Whereas the soldiers of Rajput Rifle have the War Cry Bol Bajrang Bali Ki Jai (Victory of Lord Hanuman) and the motto of this regiment is Sarvatra Vijay which means that victory is everywhere.

Specialities of Rajputana Rifles and Rajput Regiment: – The members of the Rajputana Rifles are distinguished by their distinctive style of moustache. But the symbolic weapon of medieval Rajput’s is the dagger and bugle. Whereas the soldiers of the Rajput regiment symbolized a pair of crossed Rajput daggers covered with 3 Ashoka leaves on both sides.

Formation of Rajputana Rifles and Rajput Regiment in Indian Army: –The Rajputana Rifles was established by the East India Company in 1775. The 9th Battalion out of 1978 was then reorganized as the Mumbai Sepoy. Again the Rajputana Rifles was formed by the British Indian Army in the year 1921. Before 1945 it was known as Rajputana Rifles. It was formed after the merger of the 6th Regiment of the then British Indian Army. Whereas the Rajput Regiment was formed by the British Government in 1778. From 1778 to 1947 it was known as the British Indian Army. After independence, it was merged with the Indian Army and since then it has functioned as the Indian Army.

Number of Battalions: – Presently a total of 19 battalions are working in Rajputana Rifles. While a total of 23 battalions are working in the Rajput Regiment.

Cooperation in world War: – The soldiers of the Rajputana Rifles participated in the First and Second World Wars. Where he lost the lives of more than 30,000 soldiers. After the formation of the Rajput Regiment, he participated in the First World War and the Second World War and many soldiers.

Appointment of jawans: – The battalions of Rajputana Rifles have a large number of Jat, Ahir, and Gujjar castes. The battalion is mainly known for the war it fought with Pakistan. While the Rajput regiment mainly consists of soldiers from the Rajput community, Ahirs, Gurjars, Brahmins, and Bengali soldiers.

Medals Won:-The soldiers of the Rajput regiment have so far won one Param Vishisht Seva Medal, five Param Vishisht Seva Medals, seven Maha Vir Chakras, five Ati Vishisht Seva Medals, 20 Shaurya Chakras. Apart from this, 8 Yudh Seva Medals, 313 Sena Medals, 66 Vir Chakras,19 Vishisht Seva Medals,12 Kirti Chakras, one Vishisht Seva Medal, and one Padma Shri have been awarded.

Note:- When Rajputana Rifles participated in the First and Second World War, this regiment was awarded 6 Victoria Crosses because of the bravery of their soldiers.

Turban of Rajput Regiment and Rajputana Rifles:-

A red turban is worn by the soldiers of the Rajput Regiment while the soldiers of the Rajputana Rifles wear a black turban.
