PIQ FORM IN SSB or Personal Information Questionnaire is a really crucial part of whole SSB interview procedure. It is a two-page form in which candidates are supposed to fill their personal details. Candidates who get screened in are asked to fill 2 PIQ forms. Out of these two forms one PIQ goes to your Psychologist and one PIQ goes to your IO. Before your assessment both of them pursue your PIQ and then do your assessment accordingly. 80-90% of your personal interview in SSB will be based on your PIQ only.

1. AVOID OVERWRITING

As they say, that first impression is the last impression, so think twice before writing anything in your PIQ form. Your PIQ will be read by high-rank officials, and it is your representation in your absence. Do not do cutting and overwriting as it will show your lack of organizing ability, lack of responsibility, unawareness, and low attentiveness.
2. BE HONEST AND DON’T BLUFF
You’ll be assessed by highly experienced officers, so Bluffers are easily caught red-handed. Be honest and Do not give false information to avoid unnecessary trouble. Have confidence and just Be yourself in the SSB.
3. CONSIDER IT AS YOUR RESUME
Your Psychologist read your PIQ before assessing your psychology Dossier and your I.O. will read your PIQ before calling you in for interview. So write about your achievements and qualifications thoughtfully as it will reflect your good qualities and multiply your chances of RECOMMENDATION.
4. THEY’LL KNOW ONLY WHAT YOU WILL TELL THEM
Your ASSESSORS will know only what you’ll express or tell them. Always remember to represent your best self at every stage of SSB interview, and it starts with your PIQ form. Remember to mention your remarkable achievements and participation.
5. WRITE PRODUCTIVE HOBBIES/INTEREST–
Defence doesn’t require bookworms or nerds in their team. Have productive hobbies as it will represent your real qualities and what you do in free or spare time. AVOID writing hobbies like listening to music and watching T.V., as it shows lack of creativity and less active lifestyle.
6. MENTION YOUR ACHIEVEMENTS–
Your Achievements show how well you utilized the opportunities that came before you in your life. Write about your achievements in the respective column in precise words.
7. DO NOT TAKE “POSITION OF RESPONSIBILITY” LIGHTLY
Mention the position of responsibility that you have acquired in your life may it be in NCC, school head boy, or even as a class monitor. It will show your social exposure and leadership qualities.
8. BASIC PHYSICAL AWARENESS
Be aware about yourself not only mentally but also physically. As there is a column of Age (years and months), Height (in centimeters), and weight (in kilograms).
9. NUMBER OF CHANCES AVAILED FOR COMMISSION IN ALL THREE SERVICES
In this column you have to mention only the number of SSB Interviews you have appeared earlier and not about the number of written examinations you appeared in
10. CONVERT CGPA TO PERCENTAGE BEFOREHAND
You’ll have to write your percentage and division of class 10th, 12th, and in Graduation. So convert your CGPA into percentage beforehand to avoid any extra work during documentation and form filling.
11. PRACTICE FILLING PIQ FORM
Practice makes a man perfect. So last but not least, practice filling PIQ form before going to SSB as it will give you an idea of it, and you won’t face any confusion during the actual process.
