Punctuality is what we should learn from UPSC. On 4th June 2018, UPSC issued UPSC Calendar 2019. In the calendar, it was mentioned that CDS 1 Notification 2019 will be issued on 31st October 2018. Age, Sex and Marital Status – CDS 1 Notification 2019

- IMA—Male candidates who are unmarried and born between 2nd Jan 1996 and 1st Jan 2001 are eligible to apply.
- Indian Naval Academy—Male candidates who are unmarried and born between 2nd Jan 1996 and 1st Jan 2001 are eligible to apply.
- Air Force Academy—Male candidates who are unmarried and born between 2nd Jan 1996 and 1st Jan 2000 (Candidates who holda valid and current Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA (India) arerelaxable up to 26 yrs. and born not earlier than 2nd Jan 1994 and not later than 1st Jan, 2000) are eligible.
- Officers’ Training Academy—(SSC Course for men) Male candidates who are unmarried and born between 2nd Jan 1995 and not later than 1st Jan, 2001 are eligible.
- Officers’ Training Academy—(SSC Women Non-Technical Course) Women who are unmarried and issueless widows who have not remarried and issueless divorcees who have not remarried are eligible to apply for the same. In addition to this, they should have been born not earlier than 2nd Jan, 1995 and not later than 1st Jan, 2001.
Educational Qualifications: Graduation
- Indian Military Academy and Officers’ Training Academy— Candidates should have Graduation Degree of a recognized University or equivalent.
- Indian Naval Academy—Candidates should have Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a recognized University/Institution.
- Air Force Academy—Aspirates should have Graduation Degree of a recognized University (must have studied Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.
- Marital Status: Unmarried candidates only

Negative Marking – Yes,this exam has negative marking. There will be four choices for each question. For each wrong answer, one third (0.33) of the marks assigned to that question will be subtracted.

SCHEME OF EXAMINATION – CDS 1 Notification 2019
To Apply for Admission in Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Air Force Academy:—
- English 2 Hours 100 Marks
- General Knowledge 2 Hours 100 Marks
- Elementary Mathematics 2 Hours 100 Marks
To Apply for Admission in Officers’ Training Academy:—
- English 2 Hours 100 Marks
- General Knowledge 2 Hours 100 Marks
Language – The questions will be both in Hindi and English
Height Criteria – CDS 1 Notification 2019
The minimum acceptable height for male candidates is 157.5 cms for Indian Army, 157 cms for Indian Navy and 162.5 cms for Indian Air Force.
The minimum acceptable height for female candidates is 152 cms.
The minimum acceptable height for Gorkhas and individuals belonging to hills of North-Eastern region of India, Garhwali and Kumaon is 5 cms less. If candidates are from Lakshadweep, the minimum acceptable height can be reduced by 2 cms. Note that these concessions are not applicable for Air Force.
The weight should be proportionate to Height.
