Direct Entry Pretty Officer:
- A candidate must have pass 10+2 from any recognized Board.
- Candidate should have participated in the International or National or state level sports Tournaments etc.
- He/she should have attained 6th position in National (seniors) and in National (Juniors) or 3rd position in the Inter-university meets.
- Age Limit: The age of the candidate must be between 17 to 22 years old.
Senior Secondary Recruits (SSR):
- A candidate must have pass 10+2 from any recognized Board.
- Candidate should have participated in the International or National or state level sports Tournaments etc.
- Age Limit: The of the candidates must be between 17 to 21 years old.
Matrix Recruits (MR):
- A candidate must have passed 10th from any recognized board (State or Central).
- Candidate must have participated in International or National or State level sports.
- Age Limit: The Age of the candidates must be between 17 to 21 years old.
Selection Procedure in the Sports Quota:
The selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of the trial designated at the Naval Centres. The candidate who will qualify for the trial will proceed with the Medical tests at the Military hospitals.
There would not be any written exam or Interview, a candidate will directly be selected through the trial and then will appear for the Medical tests.
Best way to join Navy After Class 12th
Medical Examination:
- Medical examination will be conducted by authorized military doctors as per medical standards prescribed in current regulations applicable to sailors on entry.
- The minimum height should be 157 Cms.
- Minimum Chest expansion of 5 cms.
- Candidates are advised to get their ears cleaned for wax and tartar removed from teeth prior to examination.
Candidates declared medically Temporary Unfit in the recruitment medical examination can avail specialist review from the specified Military Hospital within a maximum period of 21 days. No further review/appeal is permissible.
Candidates declared Medically Permanent Unfit in the recruitment medicals can appeal for specialist opinion in a Military Hospital within 21 days on payment of Rs. 40 /- by Military Receivable Order (MRO) on Government Treasury.

How to apply for Navy Sports Quota Entry 2021:
The Application form will be accepted offline only. To apply for this, All the eligible candidates can send their application to the secretary, Indian Navy Sports Control Board. For further details regarding you can go to the official website of the Indian Navy http://www.joinindiannavy.gov.in. the last date to apply for this is 7 March 2021. If your application gets selected by the selection board only then you will be eligible to appear for the trial.
Salary and Allowances of Sports QuotaNavy Sailors:
Navy Sailors Salary & Allowances:- During the initial training period, a stipend of Rs. 14,600/- per month will be admissible. On successful completion of initial training, they will be placed in Level 3 of the Defence Pay Matrix (21,700- 69,100). In addition, they will be paid MSP 5200/- per month plus DA (as applicable) plus X Group pay and Rs. 6200/- per month plus Dearness Allowance.
