The Kargil vijay diwas
The year 2019, commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Kargil vijay diwas. During the war, the rescuing program was stated as “Operation Vijay” which popularized as “Kargil War”. The Kargil vijay diwas is celebrated every year in the memory of our martyrs who saved the nation during the Kargil war. Many events take place every year in different parts of the country to remember the great soldiers of the Kargil Victory.
The Kargil Vijay Diwas 2019
The “Kargil Vijay Diwas 2019” is to be celebrated from 25th of July to 27th of July. The ceremony will be organized at Dras, New Delhi. The 3-day program is for our brave and strong soldiers who saved the nation in the Kargil war back in 1999. This year, the theme of Kargil vijay diwas is “Remember, Rejoice, and Renew.”
- Remember states, “We remember our martyrs, by revisiting the sacrifices, instilling pride, and respect among us.”
- Rejoice states, “We rejoice by celebrating the victory in Kargil.” And
- Renew states, “We renew our resolve to safeguard the honour of the Tricolour.”
Many activities take place around the country celebrating the Kargil victory. This year, as part of the main event, numerous activities are planned to be organized all over the country from the first week of July 2019. One of the events will include Special National Integration Camp for the NCC Cadets serving from various States and Union Territories of the country. People of Ladakh will be participating in a run named ‘Ek Daud Shaheedon Ke Naam’ which will have people from the remotest corner of the region. Many sports and competitions like polo, archery, and cricket will take place for the local residents along with other activities. A ‘T-20 Cricket Championship’ is being organized at the NDS Memorial Stadium which is made at an altitude of 11500 ft. The tournament will be between teams from the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, ITBP and local clubs from the entire Ladakh region.
A ‘Wreath Memorial Ceremony’ shall take place at the ‘Kargil War Memorial’ in Dras on the Kargil Vijay Diwas (26 July 2019) to honour the brave-hearts who died during the “Operation VIJAY’.
The celebrations will begin in Delhi on 14 July 19, with the lighting up of a Victory Flame from the National War Memorial, New Delhi. The flame relay team will conduct education talks and interact with the students in different educational institutes.
A ‘Commemoration Ceremony’ has been hosted at the Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi, where a group discussion with the war veterans will be conducted. After that, the ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas Evening’ a cultural event, will take place at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium on 27 July 2019.
