How to join Army Cadet College?
ACC or Army Cadet College is one of the most reputable institutions that train soldiers who are willing to be an officer and serve their country. The duration of training is 3+1 years. Here, candidates are required to spend the first three years in the Army Cadet College and final year in the Indian Military Academy. In order to join Army Cadet College, candidates have to follow the below written eligibility criteria and go through the entire selection procedure.
Eligibility Criteria – Army Cadet College
- Candidates must be a citizen of India.
- Candidates must be a serving soldier in Army, Navy or Air Force.
- Candidates must be aged between 19 and 24 years.
- Unmarried candidates are eligible.
Note: Before joining ACC, you have to join the forces as a soldier.
Selection Procedure – Army Cadet College
Interested soldiers can contact their educational department or reporting officer to apply for the same. After this, soldiers will be shortlisted and prepared for SSB after qualifying the written exam. To join Army Cadet College, soldiers have to go through the below written procedure:
- Written Exam: It consists of four papers, including General Mental Ability Test (GMAT), Current & General Awareness Test (CGAT), Interactive Communication English (ICE), and Academic Content Test (ACT). Papers like GMAT, CGAT, and ACT are objective type, whereas ICE is descriptive. The duration for each paper is 3 hours and marks are 300. It includes various subjects like General Mental Ability, General Awareness and English.
- SSB Interview: Candidates who qualify the written exam will be called for this round. It is a five-day test which is divided into two stages – Stage I and Stage II.
- Medicals: After cracking the second round, candidates will be gone through the medical fitness based on medical criteria decided by the Recruiting Board. It is not a test, but just a procedure to measure the fitness criteria.
- Merit List: This is the final or last step in the selection procedure to join Army Cadet College. Depending on the marks you obtain in the written tests and SSB, the Merit List is prepared. After this, Joining Instructions will be issued to the required number of soldiers based on the number of vacancies as well as obtained marks in the exams.
