IMA Passing out Parade 2018: Highlights

Passing Out Parade and a Pipping ceremony held at Somnath Stadium of the IMA was organised on 08 December 2018 on successful culmination of the course. The POP has witnessed the presence of Vice Chief of Army Staff (VCOAS), Lieutenant General Devraj Anbu.


428 Gentlemen Cadets passed out in this ceremony after which 347 cadets will join the Indian Army as officers. The rest of the foreign cadets will join their army of their respective nations.


Cadets succeeding arduous training will be inducted in regiments across India. Lieutenant General Devraj Anbu congratulated the new officers and said the officers have been fortunate to be trained at the academy known for its high standards of training and it is time to utilise what they have learnt here for the service of the nation.


He also said it was a matter of great honour for him to address the cadets on this occasion at an institution where he himself participated in a parade as a young cadet many years ago.


Showcasing the high standards of the training and physical excellence achieved by the Gentlemen Cadets of Indian Military Academy, a Multi-Activity Display was also conducted at Somnath Stadium on Friday as a prelude to the Passing Out Parade.


The Display was witnessed by a large gathering of spectators which included the Passing out Course, their parents and relatives.


The Gentlemen Cadets showed dare devil acts on horseback, which included tent pegging, trick riding and show jumping. Further, a performance was put up by the Gentleman Cadets showcasing their physical prowess through their gymnastic agility and acrobatic skills.


It culminated with the performance by Gatka and Bhangra Team.
