How are RAW Officers selected?
The Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) hires individuals from several Indian government agencies, including the armed forces, intelligence services, police, and administrative services. This does not imply that only these services are chosen for RAW, though.

RAW Officer Recruitment through UPSC Civil Services Exam (CSE)
RAW personnel are frequently selected from the pool of outstanding applicants who have already passed the UPSC Civil Services Exam and have decided to pursue careers as IPS and IFS Officers. A Civil Servant can only be selected for RAW after successfully completing a foundation course at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration. After doing psychological tests and interviews, RAW conducts interviews with the candidates. Shortlisted individuals begin their one-year employment at RAW.

Promotion of RAW Agents
RAW’s corporate headquarters are in New Delhi. The head of R&AW reports to the Indian Prime Minister without parliamentary supervision and is known as the Secretary (Research) in the Cabinet Secretariat. The Director reports administratively to the Cabinet Secretary, who in turn reports to the Prime Minister.

Working of RAW
