Hey guys, I am going to share with you How to become Captain in Indian Navy?, Recruitment into the Navy is based on the requirement to effectively man all new and existing ships, submarines, aircraft and shore establishments to the optimum levels. look it is not very easy to become Captain in the Navy because this is a very high-Rank position and also with so many responsibilities, this is the fifth rank in the Navy. so there is no direct source to get posted as a Captain, So you will have to go step by step:-

How can I become Captain in Indian navy?

Ok now let’s see how many types of entries and exam are there to become Captain in Indian navy. Captain in Indian Navy means a lot of responsibility, for being a Captain you need to have more than 15-year experience in Indian Navy and you can join the Captain position only through Promotions. How to become Captain in Indian Navy?

How to become Captain in Navy through NDA Exam?

Selection Process-

  • Written Examination
  • SSB Interview

As soon as you pass your 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics you are eligible to apply for the NDA written exam, you can also apply for this while appearing in 12th, the minimum age for this 16.5 yrs to 19 yrs old.

NDA Cadet’s lifestyle, Salary During the Training.

After you clear the written exam you will get a call for the SSB interview, which is 5 days long interview (one of the toughest interview in India at 10+2 level) after that you have to go through medical. Once you clear all this, there would be AIR (All India Merit) list which is mandatory to clear, around 300-400 seats are there in NDA and only 15% -20% seats are for Indian Navy and rest of the seats are for Army and Air Force. So you will have to score well to get Navy. total marks 1800 which 900 for the written exam and other 900 for the SSB interview.

NDA Training Duration:-

If you clear this all you will have your training in the National Defence Academy for 3 years and Indian Naval Academy for 2 years. After the successful completing you will be posted as an officer.

Captain in Indian Navy Through CDS Examination:-

Selection Process-

  • Written Exam
  • SSB Interview

This process is also same as it is in the NDA,  but you can appear for this exam after the graduation, once you are graduate in any stream with having mathematics and physics in your 10+2 you are eligible to apply, the age limit for this exam is 19 yrs to 24 yrs old. But the difference is, your training duration would be for 2 yrs or 3 yrs only.

NCC(National Cadet Corps) Special entry scheme

University graduates possessing NCC ‘C’ certificate with minimum ‘B’ grading and 50% marks in the graduation degree examination are eligible to apply in the Navy as regular commissioned officers. These graduates will not have to appear in the written exams and are selected through the SSB interview only. They join the Indian Naval Academy for Naval Orientation Course along with the CDSE cadets.

Other Way to Join Indian Navy

There are so many other Branches in Indian Navy by joining them you can become an Officer. Like:-
