EXERCISE MITRA SHAKTI 2021

With an expect to upgrade interoperability and offer accepted procedures in counter revolt and counter terrorism warfare activities, India and Sri Lanka will start a 12-day EXERCISE MITRA SHAKTI 2021 in Sri Lanka’s Ampara starting from today that is 4th of October. This military exercise will be conducted at the Combat Training School and will conclude on 15th of October.

This EXERCISE MITRA SHAKTI 2021 is the 8th edition of the military exercises between Indian Army and Sri Lankan Army.

“The point of the activity is to advance close relations between multitudes of the two nations and improve interoperability and sharing accepted procedures in counter-insurrection and counter-psychological warfare tasks.”

The Ministry said an all arms contingent of 120 staff of the Indian Army will take part in the activity alongside a unit strength unforeseen of the Sri Lankan Army.

The ministry said that the exercise will go far in additionally fortifying the connection between both the South Asian countries and will go about as an impetus in bringing collaboration and participation at the grassroot level between the two militaries.

Sri Lanka was shaken by a progression of lethal bomb impacts in April 2019 in which more than 300 individuals were killed.

EXERCISE MITRA SHAKTI 2021

The two week long exercise is being conducted from 04 to 15 October 2021. The Indian Army contingent comprising of 120 personnel of Infantry Battalion Group and a similar strength from a Battalion of the Sri Lankan Army are participating in the bilateral exercise
