THE Asia University Rankings 2021
IISc Bangalore, IIT Ropar and IIT Indore are the three Indian universities secured their positions in the top 100 list of Times Higher Education Asia university rankings 2021.
Their rankings are-:
IISc Bangalore- 37th
IIT Ropar- 55th
IIT Indore-78th
Tsinghua University (China) has gained the first position in this ranking.
2nd– China’s Peking University
3rd & 5th – Singapore varsities
4th– University of Hong Kong
World Oceans Day
World Ocean Day is observed globally on 8th June every year. Raising global awareness about the importance of the ocean in our lives and the ways through which we can protect it, is the main objective of this day.
“The Ocean: Life and Livelihoods” is the theme for World Oceans Day 2021.
History: At the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro in 1992 the government of Canada had proposed the concept of World Ocean Day. Officially World Ocean Day was established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2008.
Azerbaijan Grand Prix won by Sergio Perez
Red Bull’s Sergio Perez won Azerbaijan Grand Prix by defeating Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton. This was the first win for Sergio Perez since joining Red Bull.
