CDS Syllabus 2019: Union Public Service Commission or UPSC is going to conduct CDS exam for eligible candidates. Aspirants can apply for the same to get selected for the Indian Defence Services. The CDS Exam (I) includes a written test and a personality cum intelligence test. Paper – 1: English – CDS Syllabus 2019
This section is designed to test the candidates’ knowledge of English. The question paper is set by experts to judge the understanding of English and workmanlike use of words of all candidates.
Paper – 2: General Knowledge – CDS Syllabus 2019
This section includes questions related to General knowledge, including History of India and Geography. The question paper is set in a manner to test the knowledge of candidates in respect of current events and judge their everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspects and so on.
Paper – 3: Elementary Mathematics – CDS Syllabus 2019
The syllabus of this section in divided into various categories, including
Arithmetic: As per CDS Syllabus 2019, this section is divided into sections, including Number system and Elementary Number Theory. Number System includes topics like Natural numbers, Rational and Real number, Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division, Decimal fractions, Profit and Loss, Compound Interest, and so on. On the other hand, Elementary Number Theory includes Division algorithm, Prime and composite numbers, Multiples and factors, H.C.F. and L.C.M. and so on.
Algebra: Some of the topics are basic operations, theory of polynomials, set language and set notation, rational expressions, laws of indices, conditional identities, and many more.
Trigonometry: Use of trigonometric tables, trigonometric identities, and simple cases of heights and distances.
Geometry: According to CDS Syllabus 2019, this section covers topics like Lines and angles, Plane and plane figures, theorems on properties of angles at a point, sides and diagonals of parallelogram, rectangle and square, theorems on congruency of triangles, sides and angles of a triangle, and a lot more.
Mensuration: In this section, there are various types of topics, including triangle, circle, rectangles, areas of squares, surface area and volume of cuboids, surface area and volume of spheres, and many more.
Statistics: For statistic section, various topics are involved, including collection and tabulation of statistical data, bar charts, pie charts, histograms, graphical representation frequency polygons, and so on.
