CDS 2 2019 which has been held on 08 September 2019 conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The result has been declared on the official website of the UPSC on 1 November 2019. Around 8120 candidates have passed the exam. Now the selected candidates have to register themselves for the SSB interview within two weeks from the declaration of result. The selection process in the defence goes bit slow, it may take 4-5 months for SSB interview from the date of result declaration and then again 2-3 months for the medical tests.
SSB interview can be held in March 2020 as per the record. But no official notification has been issued yet.
What to do after CDS written exam
The candidates who have passed the written exam will appear for the SSB interview, but for the SSB interview, Qualified candidates have to register themselves within two weeks on the official websites and have to send their original documents in support of age proof, qualification, caste certificate etc to Headquarters of Air force Academy or Indian Naval Academy or Indian Military Academy. whichever you have chosen as the first priority. If you have given your first choice as ARMY you have to register yourself on the official website of Indian Army www.joinindianarmy.com in order to enable them for the call-up information for SSB interview.
CDS 2/2019 SSB interview details
SSB interview procedure is always same in the all the defence examinations, but the questions may be different in the CDS, like in NDA, candidates have just passed their 10+2 and do not have much knowledge about anything rather than their academics. The question which they asked the NDA candidates is a bit easy and enjoyable to answer. But the CDS candidates have passed graduation and enough knowledge, so the question can be a bit tough, and the topics for the Group Discussion can be also tough. But that’s not the case all the time, sometimes it also depends on the officer’s mood.
SSB interview is not as tough as we think, you just have to educate yourself about who you are, what’s your weakness, what’s your strength and gain sufficient knowledge about the defence.
The procedure of CDS-2/2019 SSB interview
After the written exam, you will be called for the SSB interview. You will get your call letter on your given email ID or by post.
Day 1-
- Reporting ( at MCO, moment control office)
- Documents Check
- Form filling
- Testing
1.Verbal, non-verbal intelligence test
2. Picture Perception description test (PPDT)
The result will be announced the same day within 2-3 hours and failed will be sent back, and the rest of the candidate will stay for the next 4 days.
Day 2-
On 2nd day you will have to clear a few more tests also, remember each test and each round is very important for your selection, so prepare for the best.

- Self Description Test
Day 3- GTO in this you will have to do group activities with your partners.
- Group discussion
- Group planning exercise
- Progressive group task
- Half group task
- Individual obstacle task
- Command task
- Group obstacle task
Remember this is a group activity, so perform with your group, never try to show that you are the best. Always move with your group.
Day 4- Personal Interview
This is an important round for your selection in which they can ask any question from the subjects or from your personal life.People usually hesitate and feel nervous about this round. Just be honest with yourself.They actually do not care what you have done in your past, they only check how’s your mentality towards your future and what can you do in your future.
Day 5- Conference
This is not any test. You will be shown your results and qualified candidates will be congratulated and disqualified candidates will be told, why they could not qualify.
