AFCAT 1 2023 Exam Date

The Indian Air Force has scheduled the AFCAT Recruitment 2023 twice a year. Every year, the Indian Air Force (IAF) conducts a variety of competitive exams to employ qualified people for various governmental positions. For the hiring of applicants in the technical and non-technical departments for the Flying Branch and Ground Duty programmes, the announcement is made in July. In February and August of each year, this test is administered.

Online applications are invited for the courses commencing in January 2024 for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branches. Online applications are also invited for NCC Special Entry Scheme (For flying branches).

AFCAT 1 2023 Notification

The Indian Air Force releases the official AFCAT Notification twice a year. Those who are willing to join the air force on commissioned post must download the AFCAT notification 2023 as soon as released. The AFCAT 1 2023 Notification will release on 1st December 2022 and the AFCAT 2 2023 Notification will be released in May 2023 tentatively. AFCAT Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (as on 01/01/2024)

(a) Flying Branch. 20 to 24 years as on 01 January 2024 i.e. born between 02 January 2000 to 01 January 2004 (both dates inclusive). The upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable up to 26 years i.e. born between 02 January 1998 to 01 January 2004 (both dates inclusive).
(b) Ground Duty (Technical/ Non-Technical) Branches. 20 to 26 years as on 01 January 2024 i.e. born between 02 January 1998 to 01 January 2004 both dates Inclusive).

Educational Qualification

Flying Branch

Candidates should have mandatorily passed with a minimum of 50% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level and
(a) Graduation with a minimum of three years of degree courses in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
OR
(b) BE/B Tech degree (Four years course) from a recognised University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
OR
(c) Candidates who have cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of the Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognised University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

Ground Duty (Technical) Branch

(aa) Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) {AE (L)}

Candidates with a minimum of 50% mark each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level and a minimum of four years degree graduation/integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering/ Technology from a recognized University OR cleared Sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of the Institution of Engineers (India)

Aeronautical Society of India or Graduate membership examination of the
Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies with
a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent in the following disciplines:-

(aac) Qualified CA/ CMA/ CS/ CFA.
(aad) B.Sc. with specialization in Finance.

(ac) Education.

Passed 10+2 and Post-Graduation with 50% marks in any discipline including integrated courses offering PG (Single degree without permission to exit and lateral
entry) and with 60%marks in Graduation in any disciple.

Meteorology

Passed 10+2 and Post Graduate Degree in any Science stream/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Geography/ Computer Applications/ Environmental Science/ Applied Physics/ Oceanography/ Meteorology/ Agricultural Meteorology/ Ecology & Environment/ Geo-physics/ Environmental Biology with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of all papers put together (Provided Maths and Physics were studied at the Graduation Level with a minimum of 55% marks in each).

The processes listed below can be used to apply for the AFCAT Exam by interested candidates.

  • Step 1 is to go to the AFCAT website @afcat.cdac.in
  • Step 2: Select the post’s link.
  • Step 3: Create a profile once using the One Time Registration method (OTPR)
  • Step 4: The candidate’s email address will be used to produce the one-time password.
  • Step 5: After registration, candidates can visit the login page and fill out all the information.
  • Step 6: Upload the necessary documents as specified in the application form.
  • Step 7: After double-checking the data submitted into the online application form, submit the AFCAT application.
  • Step 8: Candidates should print out a copy of the application they submitted after receiving it via email.

AFCAT Travel Allowance (TA)

To and fro travelling fare by the shortest route of AC-III Tier/ AC Chair Car or actual normal bus fare will be reimbursed to the candidates appearing in Air Force Selection Board for the first time. For all other modes of travel, TA will be admissible as per the Government authorized rules. No TA is admissible if you have already appeared for the same type of entry at any of the Selection Boards.

AFCAT Physical Conditioning

You are advised to be physically fit when you report for SSB in order to be able to undergo the tests at AFSB. You should aim to achieve an ability to run 01 mile (1.6 km) in 10 minutes, and do 10 push-ups and 03 chin-ups. Prospective candidates are also advised to keep themselves in good physical condition to adapt to physical training at AFA which encompasses running, swimming, rope climbing and other forms of physical training/ conditioning in which they would undergo mandatory tests during training.
