On 16 December 2021 India is celebrating the 50 Years of Vijay Diwas. Vijay Diwas is celebrated as the victory of the Indian Army in the Kargil War between the Indian Army and the Pakistan Army. It has been 50 years since the war ended on 16 December 1971. In this war, more than 14 hundred soldiers of the Indian Army lost their lives. Everyone probably knows this thing. Know what is Vijay Diwas and why is it celebrated? Every year December,16 is celebrated as Vijay Diwas in India. This day has started a war that started between India and Pakistan on 3 December 1971. When this war started between India and Pakistan, this war lasted for 13 days and it officially ended on 16 December. In this war, the Pakistan Army surrendered to the Indian Armed Forces. General Khan Niazi, the chief of the Pakistani army, with 93000 soldiers surrendered to the Indian Army and MuktiBahani of Bangladesh. History of Vijay Diwas:-
Before 1971, Bangladesh was a part of Pakistan. Which was also known as East Pakistan. Several sources claimed that the people of East Pakistan were punished by the Pakistani army. Along with this, they have been continuously exploiting them. The people there are also being brutally murdered by the Pakistani army. India supported the people of East Pakistan to oppose this persecution by the Pakistani army throughout Pakistan.
At that time, Pakistan’s military officer General Ayub Khan in East Pakistan had boycotted this caliphate. After which on December 3, Pakistan attacked 11 airfields of India. Responding to this attack, India also attacked the eastern and western regions of Pakistan. After this attack, the Indian government orders war against Pakistan to save the lives of the people of East Pakistan. Field Marshal Manekshaw was leading this war on behalf of India. In this entire war with Pakistan, more than 14 hundred soldiers of India had to be martyred.
The Indian army fought bravely against the Pakistan army and ended this war in just 13 days. On 16 December 1971, General Khan Miyanji, the Chief of the Pakistani Army, surrendered to India with about 93000 soldiers. Today the whole of India celebrates the day of this theme as Vijay Diwas. On this day tribute is paid to the brave soldiers who died in the war.
