Global Drug Policy Index 2021
Today the Global Drug Policy Index was released by the Harm Reduction Consortium.
About the Index:
It provides each country with a score and ranking that shows how much their drug policies and their implementation align with the United Nations principles of human rights, health and development.
It evaluates the performance of 30 countries of the world.
India’s rank is 18 out of 30 countries. It has an overall score of 46/100.
Meghalaya approves creation of new district
The Meghalaya state government has approved the proposal of the creation of a new district called Eastern West Khasi Hills district. Mairang will now be a sub-division under the West Khasi Hills district. The new district will be inaugurated on November 10, 2021 by Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma. After creation of this district the total number of districts in the state goes to 12.

Sankalp Gupta has become India’s 71st Grandmaster. He scored 6.5 points event in Arandjelovac, Serbia. He is just 18-year-old.
