India- USA Navy Passage Exercise in IOR

The Indian Navy and the Air Force conducted a two-day passage exercise with U.S. Navy Carrier Strike Group (CSG) Ronald Reagan in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR). The exercise aims to strengthen the bilateral relationship and strengthen the interoperability in IOR.

From Indian Navy, INS Kochi and Teg, along with P-8I long-range maritime patrol aircraft and MiG 29K fighters, were participated in the exercise. From the U.S side Nimitz class aircraft carrier Ronald Reagan, Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Halsey and Ticonderoga class guided-missile cruiser USS Shiloh participated.

 Ruskin Bond Indian British author has authored a new book titled ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ is published by Aleph Book Company.  Ruskin Bond is a recipient of Padma Shri (1999) and Padma Bhushan (2014).

India’s first indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant to be commissioned in 2022

The Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has informed that India’s first Indigenous Aircraft Carrier (IAC-I), is planned to be commissioned by 2022. This aircraft carrier built with nearly 75 percent indigenous content, from design to steel used in construction, to key weapons and sensors.

It has the capability to carry 30 aircraft, including 20 fighter jets and 10 helicopters. It is 262 metres long and 62 metres wide.
