UAE, Brazil, Albania, Gabon, Ghana elected to UNSC
United Nations Security Council elected Albania, Brazil, Gabon, Ghana, and UAE as non-permanent members for the 2022-23 term. These 5 countries, elected unopposed & will begin their term from 1 January 2022. The election is held through secret ballot and candidates require a two-thirds majority in the UN General Assembly to get elected.
India, Ireland, Mexico and Norway had begun the term as non-permanent members of the UN Security Council from 1 January 2021. In the election, Ghana obtained 185 votes, Gabon 183 votes, The United Arab Emirates received 179 votes & Albania 175 votes.

Global Wind Day
Global Wind Day is every year celebrated globally on 15 June. The main aim of this day is to spread awareness about wind energy. It was first observed as Wind Day in 2007. And in 2009 it was renamed as Global Wind Day. Wind Europe and the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) organized this day.
By 2021-25 India will install 20GW of wind capacity. India has a total installed wind power capacity of 38.789 GW. In the world India has the 4th largest installed wind power capacity.

Indo-Pacific at the 8th ASEAN Defence Ministers Meeting Plus
Defence Minister Mr. Rajnath Singh addressed the 8th ASEAN Defence Ministers Meeting (ADMM) Plus on June 16, 2021 & called for an open and inclusive order in Indo-Pacific based upon respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The ASEAN Defence Ministers Meeting (ADMM) Plus is an annual meeting of Defence Ministers of 10 Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries and eight dialogue partner countries – Australia, China, India, Japan, New Zealand, Russia, Republic of Korea and the United States. This year Brunei is the Chair of the ADMM Plus forum this year.
