Anup Chandra Pandey appointed as election commissioner
Anup Chandra Pandey, a retired IAS officer of the 1984 batch, Uttar Pradesh cadre, has appointed as Election Commissioner by the Union government of India. Now the panel of Election commission has been filled by three members including Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra and Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar.

Sunil Chhetri passes Lionel Messi in international goals
Indian football, Sunil Chhetri(36 yrs), has surpassed Argentina’s Lionel Messi and has become second-highest active international goal-scorer with 74 strikes.
Chhetri now leads Barcelona star Messi by two goals and is placed above Ali Mabkhout of UAE, who is at third place with 73 strikes. He achieved this feat against Bangladesh in joint preliminary qualifying round match for 2022 FIFA World Cup and 2023 AFC Asian Cup.
Assam to provide Bharat Ratna and Padma like Awards
Assam cabinet has decided to institute Asom Ratna Award, On the line of Bharat Ratna and Padma Awards. Asom Ratna Award award will be presented every year to one person for his significant contribution to society. Assam Cabinet also decided to constitute Asom Bibhushan, Assam Bhushan Award and Asom Shree award which will be conferred every year to three people, five people and ten people, respectively.
Cash prize for each awards are:
Asom Ratna Award- Rs 5 lakhs,
Asom Bibhushan Award- Rs 3 lakhs,
Assam Bhushan Award – Rs 2 lakhs
Asom Shree Award- Rs 1 lakh.
Free medical treatment of critical illness, free travel on ASTC buses, free stay at Assam Bhawans will be given to recipients.
