UPSC CAPF AC Exam 2023 Syllabus:- The Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination, commonly known as the CAPF AC Exam, is a highly competitive exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to recruit eligible candidates for the post of Assistant Commandants in various Central Armed Police Forces, including the Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). The UPSC CAPF AC Exam 2023 is scheduled to take place on 6th August 2023.

CAPF AC Exam 2023 Syllabus and Exam Pattern:-

CAPF AC Selection Process 2023:

The selection process for CAPF AC Exam consists of three stages:

  1. Written Exam: The first stage is a written examination consisting of two papers.
  2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Medical Standards Test: Candidates who qualify for the written examination will be called for a PET and Medical Standards Test.
  3. Interview/Personality Test: Candidates who clear the PET and Medical Standards Test will be called for the Interview/Personality Test.

CAPF AC Exam 2023 Exam Pattern:-

Paper-I: General Ability and Intelligence – This paper is objective in nature and consists of 125 multiple choice questions carrying one mark each. The duration of the exam is 2 hours. The topics covered in this paper include General Mental Ability, General Science, Indian Polity and Economy, Indian and World Geography, Current Events of National and International Importance, and History of India.

Paper-II: General Studies, Essay, and Comprehension – This paper is subjective in nature and carries a total of 200 marks. The duration of the exam is 3 hours. This paper includes questions from areas such as Comprehension, Essay Writing, Precis Writing, Counter Argument, and Communications.

Interview/Personality Test:-

The interview/personality test is the final stage of the CAPF AC Exam, and it carries a total of 150 marks. This stage is crucial as it determines the candidate’s overall performance and selection for the post of Assistant Commandant in the Central Armed Police Forces. Here is a detailed process of the CAPF Interview 2023:

  1. The Panel: The interview is conducted by a panel of four people, including a serving member of the Central Armed Police Forces as the chairperson and three professors or experts with high experience in their related fields.
  2. Introduction: The interview begins with a session of introduction to build up the candidate’s confidence. The panel usually asks questions about the candidate’s background, education, and work experience.
  3. Detailed Application Form: The panel asks questions based on the answers filled in the Detailed Application Form (DAF). The DAF includes the candidate’s personal details, academic qualifications, work experience, and other relevant information.
  4. Current Affairs: The panel asks questions on current affairs at both national and regional levels. Candidates must stay updated with the latest news and developments in the country.
