TWO WEEK MULTINATIONAL MILITARY EXERCISE
Several military exercises keep on taking place. Indian armed forces are also a part of these exercises that are important from the security point of view and in that lines MULTINATIONAL MILITARY EXERCISE is oragnizing
All together, all the military exercises are organized to strengthen the relations between the participating countries thereby increase the interoperability between them.
The most recent exercise organized was the “ZAPAD”- 2021 by the Russian country.
Apart from this, the other military exercise in which Indian and Russian forces are involved in INDRA.
INDIA-RUSSIA EXERCISE-INDRA
The MULTINATIONAL MILITARY EXERCISE named INDRA between the Indian and Russian navies started in 2003. this exercise includes live-firing drills, along with anti-submarine and air defence operations.
Apart from these, counterpiracy, terrorism and drug smuggling operations are also carried simultaneously.
ABOUT ZAPAD :
The Indian Army contingent with a strength of 200 personnel participated in a multi-nation military exercise in Russia. The exercise took place from September 3 to September 16.
Indian army remarked the ZAPAD exercise as,” one of the theatre level exercises of the Russian Armed Forces “
Apart from India and Russia, at least a dozen countries were a part of this exercise. Russia invited a total of 17 countries for this exercise.
Nine out of all were participating countries -Mongolia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Serbia, Russia, India, Belarus.
The remaining 8 were observer countries-Pakistan, China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Uzbekistan and Sri Lanka.
The Indian Contingent has been put through an arduous preparing plan which incorporates all features of traditional activities including motorized, airborne and heliborne, counter psychological warfare, battle molding and terminating, the Army added.
WHY WAS THE EXERCISE ORGANISED
The exercise ZAPAD was organized to enhance military and strategic ties amongst the participating nations. Also, to boost anti-terror cooperation.
