Our Prime Minister Shree Narendra Modi has celebrated Diwali Festival with our brave Indian Army Soldiers. Prime minister Narendra Modi visited Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district to celebrate Diwali with the jawans guarding the Line of Control on October 27. This is the third time since 2014, that the prime minister visited J&K to celebrate the auspicious day with troops stationed at the border. PM Modi directly flew to the Army Brigade Headquarters and interacted with the troops. This was also the prime minister’s first visit to J&K since the abrogation of Article 370.

The visit to Rajouri coincided with Infantry Day celebrations, which is observed to mark the landing of the first Indian troops in Jammu and Kashmir in 1947 to push back Pakistan supported intruders. This is the third time that Modi celebrated Diwali with troops in Jammu and Kashmir since 2014, and the first after the abrogation of Article 370 provisions.
