NDA Increased two Squadrons to cater to the shortfall of officers in the armed forces
NDA Increased two Squadrons:- This is big news for the NDA Aspirants that the vacancy for the armed forces has been increased to cater to officers’ shortage in Army, Navy, and Indian Airforce. This is a great opportunity for the 12th passed students who want to become officers in Armed Forces through the NDA Examination.
In 2019, the Minister of State for Defence had said that there was an overall shortage of 9,427 officers in the armed forces. This includes a shortage of 7,399 officers in the Army, 1,545 officers in the Navy, and 483 officers in the IAF, against the authorized strengths of the three services.
NDA Increased two Squadrons
As a result, there are two more Squadrons have been increased for the next intake. NDA had 18 Squadrons but after increasing two more the total is 20 Squadrons in National Defence Academy. In one Squadron there are 120 cadets who can take training so now a total of 20*120= 2400 cadets can undergoing training at NDA.
Currently, training cadets at NDA are divided into five battalions. There are four battalions with four squadrons each, and the fifth has two squadrons. Now fifth also has 4 battalions.
Every year, two batches graduate from the NDA. The entire training period for a cadet in NDA is three years, which is divided into six terms. The additional vacancies would be released on a half-yearly basis, which means around 30-35 additional vacancies per course would be admitted.
Infrastructure need to be increased:-
After Increasing the two squadrons NDA has to enhance the infrastructure of the training academy so the additional cadets can be accommodated.
We have news last year that the Sainik school is also planning to take admission so there is a chance in the future that the girls can also join NDA, so with this prospective NDA is also planning to enhance the Infrastructure for girls cadets.
So this is positive news that NDA Increased two Squadrons to cater to the shortfall of officers in the armed forces. And NDA is also planning to train girl cadets in near future.
