MIG 21-
This aircraft is one of the oldest aircraft in the Indian air force. And also the first supersonic jet of Indian Air force which was taken from the Soviet Union in the year 1962. These aircraft are known for AIR to AIR activities. India has currently 180 active MIG 21.
MIG 27-
This aircraft is also taken from the Soviet Union in the year 1999. One MIG 27aircraft was crashed in Kargil war against Pakistan due to the engine failure. This aircraft known for ground attacks.
MIG 29-
This Aircraft is also taken from the Soviet Union in the year 1980. Indian is the first international customer of MIG 29. India has ordered 66 Aircraft at that time. This is multi-role Aircraft.
MIRAGE 2000-
This Aircraft is taken from France. This is that Aircraft which was in the Airstrike which recently happened. This Aircraft is known as the bomber. Indian has recently 52 Mirage 2000 in action.
JAGUAR-
This Aircraft is taken from France and the UK. These Aircraft are known for ground attack Aircraft. Has not involved in any war activity yet.

This Aircraft is made in India. This is light combat Aircraft it is our own breed but due to lack of its capability. this Aircraft is not in any squad yet. Engineers of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited are still trying to make this Aircraft better.
SU-30MKI-
This Aircraft is India’s front line fighter jet which can perform every role. This Aircraft is capable of every situation. It can perform Air to Air as well as Air to Ground activities. This is taken from Russia in 2002 but entered in Indian Air force in 2004.
DASSAULT RAFALE:–
This is the multi-role fighter jet. Indian govt is taking this from France. This Aircraft is not yet included in Indian Air force but so it is about to be. This would be the advanced fighter jets which Indian Air Force is about to have.
