Indian Navy SSC Officer 2024 : Education Qualifications
Educational Qualification for Merchant Navy Personnel’s :
(i) Candidates who hold a Certificate of Competency (Foreign going) issued by the Government of India, Ministry of Shipping & Transport as a Second Mate, Mate, or Master, and were born between July 2, 1994, and January 1, 2005 (inclusive of both dates) are eligible to apply for the Executive Branch entry (General Service) in accordance with the conditions outlined in Paragraph 2(a).
(ii) Candidates who hold a Certificate of Competency as a 1st class Engineer of a steamship issued by the Government of India, Ministry of Shipping & Transport, and were born between July 2, 1995, and January 1, 2005 (inclusive of both dates) can apply for the Technical Branch entry (SSC Engineering) as per the stipulations specified in Paragraph 2(g).
Commercial Pilot License (CPL) Holders. Candidates with a valid CPL issued by the DGCA (India) and born between January 2, 1999, and January 1, 2005 (inclusive of both dates) are eligible to apply for the Pilot entry in accordance with the eligibility criteria outlined in Paragraph 2(d).

NCC Candidates. Those holding an NCC ‘C’ certificate will receive a 5% relaxation in the cut-off marks for shortlisting for the SSB, provided they meet the following criteria:
(i) Possessing an NCC ‘C’ certificate from the Naval/Army/Air Wing with a minimum ‘B’ Grade.
(ii) Having served for at least two academic years in the Senior Division of the Naval/Army/Air Wing of the NCC.
(iii) The ‘C’ certificate must not be dated earlier than June 1, 2021.
Indian Navy SSC Officer Notification 2024 : Who Can Apply ?
Candidates who have graduated or are in the process of completing their post-graduation, and have achieved a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate or an equivalent CGPA, are eligible to apply.
For the aforementioned qualifications to be considered, the university must be established by an Act of Central or State Legislature in India or recognized as an educational institution established by an Act of Parliament. It should also be declared as a deemed university or autonomous university under the UGC Act of 1956, the IIT Act of 1961, the AICTE Act of 1987, the NITSER Act of 2007, or the IIIT Act of 2014.
Additionally, candidates who have earned an Engineering degree from a foreign university, college, or institution with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate or an equivalent CGPA/System can apply. The university, college, or institution from which they obtained their degree should be recognized by the Government of India for the purpose of an Engineering Degree or equivalence certificate. Recognition by The Association of Indian Universities, established under the AIU Act of 1973, is also acceptable.
Indian Navy SSC Officer Notification 2024 :
(a) The shortlisting of applications will be based on the normalized marks obtained by candidates in their qualifying degree. These marks will be normalized using the formulas provided on the Join Indian Navy website (URL: https://www.joinindiannavy.gov.in/files/normalisation.pdf).
(b) For BE/B Tech candidates, marks obtained up to the fifth semester will be considered for shortlisting for the SSB interview, whether they have completed their degree or are in the final year.
(c) For candidates with Post-Graduate degrees in MSc, MCA, MBA, and M Tech, marks obtained in all semesters will be considered. For those in their final year, shortlisting will be based on their pre-final year performance.
(d) Candidates who are selected in the final merit list must provide proof of completing their qualifying degree with a minimum of 60% marks by emailing it to officer@navy.gov.in. Candidates who fail to meet this criterion will not be allowed to join the Academy.
(e) There will be no correspondence or communication entertained regarding this matter.
(f) Shortlisted candidates will be notified about their selection for the SSB interview through email or SMS, as provided in their application form. Candidates are advised not to change their email or mobile number until the selection process is complete.
(g) Changing the SSB Centre for an interview is not permitted under any circumstances.
(h) Any requests related to changing SSB dates should be directed to the call-up officer of the respective SSB upon receiving the call-up letter. Candidates are expected to download the call-up letter after receiving notification from IHQ MoD (N) via SMS/email, as provided in their application.
(j) No compensation will be provided in case of injuries sustained during the SSB interviews.
(k) AC 3-tier rail fare is admissible for the SSB interview if it’s the first time a candidate is appearing for a particular type of commission. Candidates should bring a photocopy of the first page of their passbook or a cheque leaf that displays their name, account number, and IFSC details when attending the SSB interview.

Indian Navy SSC Officer Notification 2024 : Merit List
A combined merit list will be compiled based on the marks obtained in the SSB (Services Selection Board) for all entries, considering the availability of vacancies for each respective entry. Candidates who are declared fit during the medical examination will be appointed as per the availability of vacancies in their chosen entry.
