Indian Coast Guard Selection Process 2022

The selection process consists of two steps:

• a medical examination and
• the preparation of the final merit.

The final merit list is used to recruit the candidates for the Indian Coast Guards.

Applications will be shortlisted at the first stage based on their bachelor’s degree grades. In some branches, if there are more applicants with higher percentages applying, the qualifying threshold can be higher than 60%. The preliminary exam will be scheduled for the shortlisted candidates.

Written test or preliminary examination: The candidates will take a preliminary test in English that will also include a discussion and picture perception test to gauge their mental and cognitive abilities (PP & DT). The preliminary exam for the Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant will be objective.

Stage II Final selection: Candidates that pass the preliminary exam will be contacted for the final selection process. This examination will comprise an interview, a group task, and a psychological test (Personality test).
Candidates will be informed of the date and location of the final selection on the Indian Coast Guard’s official website.
