Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2022

Indian Coast Guard has released the official notification inviting online applications for the post of Navik (General Duty), Navik (Domestic Branch), and Yantrik through CGEPT.  The CGEPT stands for Coast Guard Enrolled Personnel Test for the 01/2023 Batch.

The submission of the online application form for the Yantrik and Navik posts in the Indian Coast Guard will start on 08th September 2022 and the last date to apply online for the Navik GD, and DB posts are 22nd September 2022.

Indian Coast Guard Eligibility Criteria

For recruitment to the positions of Navik (General Duty), Navik (Domestic Branch), and Yantrik in the Indian Coast Guard, an Armed Force of the Union, MALE INDIAN CITIZENS with the required educational credentials and age are encouraged to apply online.

Navik Yantri Educational Qualification

  • Navik (General Duty):- 10+2 passed with Maths and Physics from an education board recognized by the Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE).
  • Navik (Domestic Branch):- 10th Class passed from an education board recognized by the Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE).
  • Yantrik:- 10th class passed from an education board recognized by Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE) and Diploma in Electrical/ Mechanical / Electronics and Telecommunication (Radio/Power) Engineering approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).

Yantrik Navik Age Limit

  • 18-22 Years
  • For Navik (GD) and Yantrik: 01st May 2001 to 31st April 2005
  • For Navik (DB): 01st May 2001 to 31st April 2005
  • (Upper Age Relaxation Of 5 Years For SC/ST And 3 Years For OBC Candidates)

Indian Coast Guard Selection Process

There are 4 parts to the selection process, which we shall go over in detail. Recruitment candidates are chosen according to an all-India order of merit based on their performance in Stages I, II, III, and IV and the number of openings for the position. Recruitment into the ICG requires passing Stages I, II, III, and IV as well as demonstrating adequate performance in training.

  • Stage 1 – Written Examination
  • Stage 2 – Physical Fitness Test

Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk. All candidates are advised to be in possession of a sports rig (Shoe, T-shirt, Trousers etc). All three tests of PFT are to be carried out in continuity without any break. Any break in the three tests will lead to failing the PFTThe PFT consists of:-

(aa) 1.6 Km run to be completed in 7 minutes.
(ab) 20 Squat ups (Uthak Baithak).
(ac) 10 Push-up.

  • Stage 3 – Medical Examination
  • Stage 4 – Verification of Documents

List of Documents Required for Verification (DV) & Uploading

At Stage-I candidate’s identity will be checked against the details filled by the candidate in the online application. The candidates will be required to bring the following documents for verification while reporting at their respective examination centres: –

  • (aa) Valid original Identity proof (Aadhar Card OR PAN Card OR Voter ID card OR Driving License OR Passport) as submitted/uploaded in the online application.
  • (ab) 01 Coloured printout of E-admit card (black & white printout not allowed).
  • (ac) 02 in no. passport-size colour photograph with similar facial features as uploaded in the online application.
  • (ad) For SC/ST applicants only: – Original caste certificate and 02 photocopies of self-attested SC/ST certificate, original train/bus ticket, cancelled cheque leaf for NEFT payment and travel forms downloaded from the website for claiming TA.
