Medical Examination Procedure of the Recommended Candidates
Table of Contents
Following the release of the SSB results, recommended candidates come before the medical board to complete their medical board. The concerned Military Hospital needs 4 to 5 days to finish the medical board, following which the applicants are distributed. Unless otherwise ordered, NDA applicants are assessed for both the Army and the Navy, and their fitness status will be endorsed as a result. The medical board’s president will direct candidates for the appeals and reviews process. In the event that they have been deemed unsuitable, candidates may request the advice of the President Special Medical Board for review or appeal.
The Procedure of Appeal in SSB Medical Board
The Appeal Medical Board will be held at one of the following hospitals:-
- Base Hospital, Delhi Cantt.
- Command Hospital, Southern Command, Pune.
- Command Hospital, Eastern Command, Kolkata.
- Command Hospital, Central Command, Lucknow.
- Command Hospital, Western Command, Chandimandir.
- Command Hospital, Air Force, Bangalore.
- Command Hospital, Northern Command, C/o 56 APO.
- INHS, Ashvini, Mumbai.
In accordance with the President Medical Board’s instructions, candidates must appear for a medical examination within the allotted time frame or 42 days from the day they were last examined by the Special Medical Board. They must also bring a receipted copy of the MRO/TR. The goal is to finish the Medical Board in one day.
Review Medical Board
If a candidate is found to be unfit by the Appeal Medical Board, he or she may contest the decision and request a review of the medical records depending on the strength of the argument. Within one day of the Appeal Medical Board meeting, any candidate requesting a review shall send their request to the Recruiting Directorate (Personnel & Coord), Army Headquarters, West Block III, RK Puram, New Delhi, along with a copy to the president. The DG AFMS handles the routing of RMB applications. It is not a matter of right that the DG AFMS makes the decision to award RMB. RMBs are performed at the AFMC in Pune and the R&R Hospital in Delhi Cantt.
Stay During the Medical Examination
The recommended candidates will remain at the selection centres in the lines designated for them following the announcement of the SSB results so that the Military Hospital can examine them medically. For this, the candidates will receive brand-new medical chest numbers.
Candidates who must undergo an appeal medical board or a later medical examination because of unforeseen circumstances will make their own arrangements to do so.
Discipline during SSB Medical Examination
It is crucial that advised applicants exhibit adequate discipline when visiting the selection centres and participating in the medical examination. When on the campus of the Selection Centers, candidates must always wear their medical Chest Number (with Red Cross).
