Indian Air Force appointed Air Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari as a new Vice Chief, He will replace incumbent Air Marshal HS Arora who will superannuate on June 30. Chaudhari has presently commanding the Western Air Command, which is also known as the sword arm of the force as it handles the sensitive borders with both Pakistan and China in sensitive areas.

Vice Chief Chaudhari was commissioned in the Indian Air Force as a fighter pilot on 29 December 1982. He is a qualified flight instructor, and Instrument Rating Instructor, and examiner. He has a flying experience of over 3800 hours on various fighter aircraft including MiG-21, MiG-23MF, MiG-29, and Su-30MKI.
Short Introducation of 45th IAF Vice Chief:-
He will join the office as a 45th IAF Vice Chief on 1 August 2021. He service period is over 38 year, he was an alumnus of the National Defence Academy and joined the IAF on 29th Dec 1982 as a fighter pilot. He flown various modern aircraft in his career and also gave training to the new fighter pilots.
His Awards:-
During his career, Chaudhari has been awarded by-
- Vayu Sena Medal in 2004.
- Ati Vishisht Seva Medal in 2015.
- Param Vishisht Seva Medal in 2021 for his service.
The Indian Air Force will see a number of changes in the top brass, as Air Marshal Vivek Ram Chaudhari has been appointed the next Vice Chief of Air Staff at the Air headquarters.
Two new commanders-in-chief would also be moving for their new assignments as Director General Air Operations. Air Marshal Ballabha Radha Krishna would be succeeding Chaudhari at the Western Command in Delhi, while Air Marshal RJ Duckworth would be taking charge of the Central Air Command in Prayagraj.
