AFCAT Salary 2020:-
AFCAT cadets while they are in training they get paid for that, the real salary starts after the training when the cadets commissioned as an officer. Even before you are Commissioned as an Air Force Officer you start earning a monthly stipend of Rs. 56,100/- during last one year of your training period at any of the Air Force Training Institutions.This is just a basic salary structure which you will get in hand, they are some other pay also like Military service pay, Travelling and dearness expenses and if you are from the flying branch you will also get a flying allowance also:-
- Pay in Pay Band ( Common to all Branches ) – Rs 56,100 Per Month.
- The officer will be placed in Level 10 in the Pay Matrix of VIIth CPC – 56,100-1,10,700.
- Military Service Pay:- Rs 15,500 Per Month.

The promotions in Indian Air Force are applicable on the basis of the timescale for the first three ranks. After this, the promotions are done on the basis of the selection that depends upon the frequency with which the job positions get vacant. Promotion after this stage becomes a little abrupt because of the pyramidal promotional scene. So, due to this, there is an existence of a Time Scale (TS) promotion.
here I will share with you the Rank wise AFCAT Cadets after their Training, Right after passing the training, the AFCAT cadets will go to their respected branches like Flying, technical and ground duty branches etc. but the ranks in the all the braches are common they get the same rank either you are engineer or Officer.
After the training the cadets will be posted as a Flying Officer, after this, the promotions in Indian Air Force Officers goes like this:-
- Flying Officer
- Flight Lieutenant
- Squadron Leader
- Group Captain
- Air Commodore
- Air Vice-Marshal
- Air Marshal
- Air Chief Marshal
These are ranks of the Indian Air force but there are several criteria for qualifying for each rank.
- Once an individual has served the Flying officers for complete 3 years, they will be promoted to Flight lieutenants.
The Officers should clear a departmental test which will be referred to as Promotion Examination ‘B’. This test comprises of papers in General Knowledge, Staff duties and Professional subject. An officer shall score at least 50% to pass this exam.
- By completing 6 years of service for the Indian Air Force, one will be granted the rank of Squadron Leader.
To reach/climb further up in the hierarchy, all the Officers are mandatory to clear the promotion exam ‘C’. This exam comprises of papers on GK (Current Affairs), Air Power, Air Force Law and General Service training. An Officer will become a Wing Commander after 12 years of service.
