The Border Security Force (BSF) recruits candidates for the post of constable tradesman. The recruitment process for the BSF Constable Tradesman is conducted by the BSF from time to time. For the post of Constable (Tradesman) in the Border Security Force, Male and Female Indian citizens are invited to apply online. There are total 1284 openings, 1220 of which are for Male candidates and 64 of which are for Female candidates.

BSF Constable Tradesman Written Exam Pattern:-
The question paper will consist of one objective type paper containing 100 questions with the following composition:-

BSF Constable Tradesman Syllabus 2023:-
The syllabus for BSF (Border Security Force) Constable Tradesman exam 2023 includes the following topics:
- General Awareness/ General Knowledge: Questions in this section will be aimed at testing the candidate’s general awareness of the environment around him/her, and its application to society. knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person.
- Elementary Mathematics: This section will include questions on Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions and relationship between Numbers, Fundamental arithmetical operations, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Ratio and Time, Time and Work, etc.
- Analytical Aptitude: The questions in this section will be designed to test the candidate’s ability to draw conclusions from given information, apply logic to arrive at solutions, and evaluate arguments based on their merits.
- Basic knowledge of English/Hindi: This section will include questions on grammar, comprehension, vocabulary, and usage of English/Hindi language.
- Trade-specific questions: The syllabus for the trade-specific questions will depend on the trade for which the candidate is applying. The trades for which the BSF Constable Tradesman exam is conducted include:
- Cobbler
- Tailor
- Carpenter
- Cook
- Water Carrier
- Washer Man
- Barber
- Sweeper
- Waiter
For each trade, the syllabus will include questions related to the tools and equipment used in the trade, the methods and techniques used, and the safety precautions that must be taken while working in the trade.
It is important for candidates to go through the detailed syllabus provided by BSF and prepare accordingly.
BSF Constable Tradesman Physical Standards:
- Height: 165 cm (for males) and 155 cm (for females)
- Chest: 75-80 cm (for males)
- Weight: Proportionate to height and age
BSF CT Physical Efficiency Test (PET):-
- Male- 5 Km race in 24 minutes
- Female- 1.6 Km race in 8.30 Minutes
Note-I : No physical efficiency test will be held for Ex-servicemen.
Note-II : PET will be only qualifying in nature and it will not carry any marks.
