Who knew that the little Syria who had turned around in her childhood wearing an army uniform, today will be an officer in the Indian Army as a Captain. Yes, we are talking about the same little Saria Abbasi who hails from Ram Janki locality of Gorakhpur. He has completed his studies in the year 2017 on 9th September from the academy located in Chennai and got an appointment in the army.
On 9 September 2017 when Saria Abbasi was presented with the appointment letter after the passing out parade, her father Dr Tehseen Abbasi, and mother Rehana Sameem couldn’t take pride in seeing the star on her shoulder. Saria’s father is the head of the program of Akashvani in Gorakhpur with money. When he got this achievement, his father honoured him by calling him to his AIR centre and other colleagues also congratulated him.

Achievements of Capt Saria Abbas: – During a conversation with Capt. Saria Abbas’s father, it was learned that Saria had no interest in becoming an engineer after completing her B.Tech.After doing B. Tech in genetic engineering, he did not think of going to any reputed company and doing a job. His passion was to serve the country only by joining the Indian Army. In the initial period, his studies were done in G.N. of Gorakhpur city. Started with National Academy. Where are you after passing the 12th examination, enrolled in the engineering college of Ghaziabad, and completing her studies in genetic engineering. To do so was Capt. Saria’s dream. But after passing the engineering examination, he rejected many offers coming from the country and abroad and decided to choose the army.
During this time the seats of women in the Indian Army used to be fewer. In the first attempt, she gave the CDS exam but failed it. After trying again, he applied for the CDS exam of UPSC and got success. Seeing the spirit of Capt. Saria Abbasi, his family members appreciated him.
What difficulties did they face during their training?
When they were selected by the CDS for training for the post of Capt. of the Indian Army, at that time there were only 12 seats for women in the CDS. Capt. Saria says that when she got selected, she had to pass an interview that went on in several rounds to pass the further exams. After hard work and boldly passing the given interview, he was sent for training at the Academy in Chennai. He also had to go through the same training phase as the men at the Chennai Training Academy.
After this steely and tough training, she was commissioned in 2017 and she is serving the country for the last 4 years in the rank of Capt. We salute Capt Saria Abbasi passion and determination to serve the nation by leaving her engineering job.
