Air Force Academy (AFA), the premier training centre of the Indian Airforce, is the cradle of training for pilots, ground duty and technical officers of IAF. AFA gives the training for officers of all branches in a single institution. The training at the Air Force Academy is designed to inculcate moral values, leadership qualities, sense of honour and duty, mental and physical prowess, a spirit of adventure and the will to win, in the Flight Cadets.
The Air Force Academy imparts training to Flying, Ground Duty (Technical & Non-technical) Branches as well as flying training to officers of the Army and Navy. It prepares you, both in mind and spirit, to take on the responsibilities of an Air Force Officer. Apart from developing the required skills, you are also trained to inculcate the service code of conduct and etiquette that are expected of an officer.

Through the NDA Exam:-
NDA exam is for only male candidate who have 12th Class pass with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent conducted by a State Education Board or a University.
The age of the candidates must be between 16.5 to 19 yrs old.

Through CDS Exam:-
The candidate should have passed 10+2 with physics and mathematics and have a degree in any discipline from any recognized Institute.
For AFA, the candidate age must be between 19-24yrs old.

Through the NCC Special Entry:-
Candidates should have obtained a minimum of ‘B’ Grade in the ‘C’ Certificate Exam of NCC. Applicants, who are not holding the NCC ‘C’ Certificate on the date of application, are not eligible to apply for the course.
And candidates also have degrees of a recognized University or equivalent with an aggregate of a minimum of 50% marks taking into account marks of all the years. Those studying in the final year are also allowed to apply provided they have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
