International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression

International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression observed globally every year on 4th June. The aim of this day is to guard the rights of every child and those children who faced physical, mental & emotional abuse work for their wellbeing. 

History of this Day:

On August 19,1982 when the Lebanon war occurred in that violent attacks on the Palestine child and Lebanese child suffered very much and the UNGA (United Nations General Assembly) decided to commemorate 4 June of every year as the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression.

NITI Aayog Published Sustainable Development Index

Third edition of Sustainable Development Index for 2020-2021 released by NITI Aayog, NITI Aayog evaluated the progress of states and Union Territories with respect to their social, economic and environmental parameters. The third rendition of India’s SDG Index was launched by NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Rajiv Kumar.

Sustainable Development Index 2021

  • Kerala has again toped in this list with score of 75.
  • Bihar, Jharkhand and Assam were worst performers.
  • Second spot again retained by Himachal Pradesh and Tamil Nadu with score of 74.
  • In UT’s Chandigarh topped with a score of 79 followed by Delhi with score 68.
  • Mizoram, Haryana and Uttarakhand showed improvement and became the top gainers in 2020-21 who have gained 12, 10 and 8 points, respectively as compared to index of 2019-2020.

India’s Overall SDG Score

In 2019 India’s SDG score was 60 and in 2020-21 it is 66.

About index

This index was first launched in December 2018. It fostered competition among states and union territories by ranking them on the basis of global goals. This index follows the parameters of United Nations SDG.
