NDA 141st course – PASSING OUT PARADE
The dawn of 29th October saw the Passing Out Parade of Cadets from the National Defence Academy at Khadakwasla, Pune.
This was the 141st Passing Out Parade of National Defence Academy. The Chief of Army Staff (COAS ) General Manoj Mukund Naravane was the chief guest at the event.
The parade was held at the Khetrapal Parade Ground, NDA. General Manoj Mukund Naravane is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy and belongs to the 56thcourse. He handed over awards to the cadets who were meritorious enough and addressed them.
This POP was the fourth Passing Out Parade held and was carried out under the covid protocols. Every year, two batches of cadets are a part of the POP of the tri-service Military Academy based at Khadakwasla.
They are now to continue with one more year of pre-commissioning training at the academies of the respective forces. These academies are Indian Military Academy at Dehradun for Army; Air Force Academy in Dundigal and Indian Naval Academy in Ezhimala.
General Manoj Naravane along with CNS (Chief of Naval Staff) Admiral Karanbir Singh and former CAS (Chief of Air Staff) Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria are all batchmates from the 56th course of the National Defence Academy.
ABOUT NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY
The National Defence Academy (NDA) is the training institute of the Indian Armed Forces. It is a joint Defence Service Training Institute.
Cadets of the three services i.e. the Indian Army, the Indian Navy and the Indian Air Force get trained together before they go to their academies of their respective service.
After their training at the National Defence Academy they are to join the service academy for their further pre commissioning training.
The National Defence Academy is located at Khadakwasla, Pune- Maharashtra. It is also the first Tri-Service Academy in the world.
