Indian Air Force Academy Passing out Parade was held on Saturday, 15th June 2019 in Dundigal which is 45 km away from Hyderabad. The colorful march-past on the ground and amazing aerobatics in the air by several aircraft of Indian Air force had changed the overall environment. It was all about the combined graduation parade of 152 flight cadets as Flying officers of the Indian Air Force.
The Indian Air Force Academy Passing out Parade was reviewed by the Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Committee as well as Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Mashal B.S. Dhanoa. In addition to this, he conferred the ‘President’s Commission’ on behalf of the President of India to graduating flight cadets who had successfully completed their basic as well as professional training. A total number of 152 flight cadets graduated as Flying Officers in which there were 24 women. All of them will join the elite cadre of the Indian Air force.
The thrilling, eye-catching, and amazing occasion of Indian Air Force Academy Passing Out Parade was witnessed by the family members and friends of cadets along with senior serving and retired officers from the three services. Pipping ceremony was the high point of the parade during which the graduating flight cadets were awarded with their ‘Stripes’ by the reviewing officer. After this, the reviewing officer gave away several awards to the Flying officers who had excelled in training.
Names of the cadets who received awards during the Indian Air Force Academy Passing Out Parade 2019:
- Gajulapalli Navin Kumar Reddy is a Flying Officer from the flying branch. He was awarded President’s Plaque as well as the Chief of the Air Staff Sword of Honour for standing first in overall merit in the pilots’ course.
- On the other hand, Suprabh Saxena and Renu Yadav (Flying Officers) were awarded President’s Plaque for being first in overall merit in navigation and ground duty branches respectively.
After the Indian Air Force Academy Passing Out Parade, Air Chief Marshal Dhanoa said that “it was a matter of great pride to review the parade to welcome these fine men and women into the IAF as military leaders and aviators.” On the other hand, the spectators were delighted to witness the parade and they were awestruck by the amazing movements of the Air Warrior Drill team. They were also mesmerized by the aerobatic display by ‘Sarang’, the helicopter aerobatic team of IAF, ‘Suryakiran team’ and PC 7 aircraft.
