IMA Passing Out Parade 8 June 2019
Uttarakhand has been providing young officers to Indian Armed Forces to serve the nation for many decades. 33 young men from Dehradun, Uttarakhand would become officers in the Indian Army after IMA Passing Out Parade held on 08th June 2019 on Saturday.
A total number of 382 Gentlemen Cadets (GCs) become proud officers of Indian Army when they step on the Antim Pag (last stage) of the Academy after IMA Passing Out Parade. Among 382 GCs, 144 cadets belong to 144 Regular Course, 127 Technical Graduate Course (TGC) and 27 University Entry Scheme.
With 72 Gentlemen Cadets, Uttar Pradesh leads the table of state wise representation of Gentlemen Cadets. Bihar is in second place with around 46 Gentlemen Cadets. Haryana is in third place with 40 officers in the list of young officers. In addition to this, the Himalayan State of Uttarakhand is in the fourth place along with Punjab with 33 Gentlemen Cadets each. Incidentally, serving the armed forces in both these states is like a tradition in many families.
In addition to the above list, Maharashtra with 28, Rajasthan with 22 and Himachal Pradesh with 21 GCs are big contributors. Madhya Pradesh contributes only 11 Gentlemen Cadets in Passing Our Parade, while Andhra Pradesh would be sending only four officers and Tamil Nadu would be represented by only two Gentlemen Cadets in IMA Passing Out Parade.
This year, Gujrat contributes four Gentlemen Cadets from their state in the Indian Military Academy. On the other hand, Chattisgharh provides three, whereas Jharkhand gives only four Gentlemen Cadets in IMA Passing Out Parade. According to the report, Indian Military Academy or IMA would be sending a batch of 77 Foreign Gentlemen Cadets (FGCs) from friendly foreign countries in order to become officers in their respective countries after the end of the training.
