This examination is a little bit different from the other competitive examination, to be the GD (General Soldier) Soldier in the Indian Army first you have to appear for Physical Fitness Test and those who qualify Physical Test me undergo a medical examination, and those who qualify both will appear for the written test. Army Nursing Eligibility Criteria and Selection Process
Physical Standard for Army GD:
- Chest – Should be well proportioned. Minimum expansion 5 cms.
- Weight – Proportionate to height and age +10% acceptable.
- Height- The height of the candidate should not be less than 157cm.
- The height and weight of the candidate must be a standard condition as per the BMI (Body Mass Index).
- Medical examination will be conducted by authorized military doctors as per the medical standard prescribed in current regulations applicable to Enrolled Personnel on entry.
- Good mental, medical, and physical health, free from any disease/disability, likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duties.
- No Cardio-vascular disease, surgical deformities like knock knee, flat feet, etc. infection of ears, no history of any series of diseases.

Note – Applicants declared permanent medically unfit by any Armed Forces Hospital in previous recruitment for the same entry in the Army are advised not to appear for the test. Physical Activities of Army GD:
It is mandatory to clear this physical Fitness test to appear for the next phase of selection. here is a list of tests that one has to clear:
- 1.6 km Running to be completed in 5 min 30 sec.
- Balancing Beam (Under Grip ) minimum 6.
- Normal Pushups minimum 6
- 9 Fit Ditch Jumps
- Zig-Zag balance
Medical test of Army GD:
In the Medical Examination of the Indian Army GD soldiers, One will appear for these following tests. Here is the list of check-ups that one will go through:
- Chest X-ray for your lungs.
- Ultrasound for kidney stones.
- The liver problem will be checked
- Blood test
- Urine test
These are the few tests that one will have to go through. A candidate will also have to appear for the physical fitness Activities. If the candidate is applying for the Soldiers, he will have to clear the Physical Fitness test of the Army GD India.
If one gets rejected in the Medical Examination of the Indian Army GD, he can re-apply for the medical test to the Medical Test. if he gets rejected again, there is no way to get back. There are basically two types of rejection in the Indian Armed forces medical Examination. Temporary rejection and Permanent Rejection.
