Agnipath Recruitment 2022:- The Cabinet Committee on Defence Affairs of the Central Government has launched the ‘Agnipath Recruitment Scheme 2022’ for recruitment in the Indian Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Airforce). The main goal of this scheme is to connect the youth in the three services and make them skilled citizens for the future. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that through Agnipath Yojna, a target has been set to make the army youthful. On this occasion, the presidents of the three armies also enumerated the benefits of this scheme. Army Chief General Manoj Pandey said that along with the insurance scheme, Agniveers will get plenty of job opportunities in the future.

Those recruited under this scheme will be called ‘ Agniveer ‘. The jawans who came out of the Agnipath scheme will be given priority in jobs in many states, public sector undertakings, and ministries. Youth will be recruited from ITIs and other educational institutions in the country for the AgnipathRecruitment 2022.
The eligibility to become an Agniveer
It has been told that under the Agnipath scheme, both men and women (to be inducted when service is required) will be given a chance to become Agniveer. Youth between 17.5 years to 21 years should be considered eligible to join this service. At present, the medical and physical standards of the army will be valid. Youth who have passed 10th and 12th (according to the terms and conditions of military forces) can become Agniveer.

Agnipath Scheme 2022:-
Under the Agnipath scheme, youth between 17.5 years to 21 years will be recruited into the army. They will be given training for 10 weeks to six months. These jawans will be equipped with holographic, night, and fire control systems. In addition, hand-held target systems will also be given in the hands of the soldiers.
What will happen after four years of service?
The candidates selected in this way will serve in the army for 4 years as Agniveer. Agniveer will leave the army job after four years of service. After this, they will be able to lead a disciplined life as a skilled citizen in society. Based on merit and according to the requirement of the army, 25 per cent of the Agniveer will be adjusted in the regular cadre. It is being said that priority will also be given to them in other jobs.
What will be the salary of Agniveer?
Under the Agnipath scheme, the annual salary of Agniveer will be Rs 4.76 lakh. In the fourth year, this salary will increase to Rs 6.92 lakh. Apart from this, the risk and hardship packages will be given separately. After completing 4 years of service in the army, about Rs, 11.7 lakh will be given along with one-time interest. This money will be out of the purview of income tax.
Benefits to the Agniveer
Agniveer will be given an attractive customized monthly package along with Risk and Hardship allowances as applicable in the three services. On completion of the engagement period of four years, Agniveer will be paid a one-time ‘SevaNidhi’ package which shall comprise their contribution including accrued interest thereon and matching contribution from the Government equal to the accumulated amount of their contribution including interest as indicated below:

What happens if you become a martyr or a victim of an accident?
If a soldier dies during this service, then his family will get full insurance cover. Apart from this, about one crore rupees including a service fund will be given to the family of the martyr. Apart from this, the family will also get the full salary of the remaining service of the martyr. If the jawans become disabled during the service, then according to the percentage of disability, they will get about 44 lakh rupees. Apart from the service fund, the entire salary for the remaining service period will also be given to the jawans.
