About Service Entries In Armed Forces

Indian army offers a number of ways for its soldiers to become an army officer. These special entries are known as service entries that are available for candidates who have the passion to become a part of the Indian army. These service entries in Indian Armed Forces include ACC entry, PC entry and SCO entry. Let’s discuss these service entries in details:
ACC Entry – Service Entries in Indian Armed Forces
ACC or Army Cadet Wing is known for training its soldiers from the regular army, navy and air force. In order to enter in this field, candidates are required to meet the below eligibility criteria-
Age – 20 to 27 years
Qualification – 10+2 pattern class 12th pass or equivalent. It is mandatory to qualify ACC written exam.
Marital Status: Candidates who are unmarried/married can apply.
Course – September to November and March to May
Academy – AC Wing at IMA, Dehradun
Duration – Four years
PC (SL) Entry – Service Entries in Indian Armed Forces
PC or Permanent Commission Special List is another type of entry. It is quite similar to AC entry, but has minor changes. Check out these changes in the below given eligibility criteria:
Age – Maximum age is 45 for engineers and 45 years for IOB with minimum service of 10 years.
Qualification – Matric & above
Marital Status – Candidates who are unmarried/married Serving JCOs / NCOs excluding Sepoys can apply for the same.
Course – September and October
Academy – AEC Centre & College, Pachmarhi & IMA, Dehradun
Duration – Eight weeks
SCO Entry – Service Entries in Indian Armed Forces
SCO or Special Commissioned Officers is another type of entry for soldiers. In order to qualify this field, candidates are required to meet the below eligibility criteria:
Age – 30 to 35 years along with minimum service of five years.
Qualification – Matric with one year diploma & above
Marital Status – Candidates who are unmarried/married can apply.
Course – July/August and Nov/Dec
Academy – OTA, Gaya
Duration – Eight weeks
