Indian Armed Forces facing a shortage of officers:-
The details obtained from the survey conducted by the Indian government revealed that there is a shortage of more than 9362 officers in the three Defence services of India. Along with the officers, there is a requirement of 1.13 lakh soldiers in the Indian Defence Forces. Let us know how many soldiers and how many officers are required in each team of the Indian Army.
The question was put before the Minister of State for Defence Ajay Bhatt in the Rajya Sabha that how many officers and soldiers are there in the Indian Army at present. So in response to this question, he said that at present there is a total shortage of 97177 soldiers including about 7476 officers and junior commissioned officers.
According to the data provided by Bhatt in the Rajya Sabha in the same discussion, there is a shortage of 1265 officers and about 11166 sailors in the Navy. Whereas in the Indian Air Force also the total number of vacancies of officers is 621 and Airmen is 4850.
In this discussion of the Rajya Sabha, it has been said by the Defence Ministers that the government is working to fill these vacant posts. Very soon the number of vacancies in the Indian Armed Forces will be filled.
Current Number of Soldiers in Armed Forces:-
In a recent survey, it has been seen that the Indian Armed Forces has reached the fourth position among the strongest armed forces in the world. We have achieved this position after leaving behind the armed forces of China and it has happened because, for the last several years, indigenous weapons and weapons equipped with advanced types of technology are being used to strengthen the Indian armed force. Till January 1, 2018, the official number of officers in the Indian Army was 49933. Whereas at that time the total number of officers working was only 42635. According to a report, the total number of officers in the Indian Navy team is 11352. The number of officially posted officers is only 9746. Along with this, the total number in the Indian Air Force is also 12558. In this sector also 152 posts are yet to be filled. Similarly, 7298 posts are yet to be filled in the Indian Army.
