Before talking about the Eligibility Criteria. let’s discuss the Selection process of JAG 25th Entry. Because the selection process is a bit different from the other entry.
The Selection process of JAG Entry:
The recruitment of the candidates into the Indian Army as JAG entry would be based on the marks scored in the Graduation which is done the Major General of the Army. The selected candidate will be called for the SSB interview and after clearing this The candidate will appear for the Medical tests which are conducted by the Military doctors. So the Selection goes like this:-
- Selection based on the LLB (Graduation) marks.
- SSB Interview
- Medical Test
The Shortlisting of the candidates for the Service Selection Board Interview will be based on your marks scored in the law degree. It is very important to score better in your graduation marks. If you could not clear the shortlisting criteria of the JAG entry for the SSB Interview. There is no other to be a lawyer in the Indian Army.
Eligibility for JAG 25th Entry:
The Eligibility to apply for the Indian Army Judge Advocate General Entry isn’t much. As we discuss in the Selection procedure section that there would no Written Exam. The candidates would be directly called for the SSB Interview on the basis of their marks scored in law degree. The eligibility for JAG entry 25th is:
- Candidate must be Citizen of India.
- Unmarried/Married Males and Unmarried females are eligibil
- Only law Graduates can apply for this post.
- Candidate must have an LLB degree from any recognized University/Institute recognized by the Bar Council of India.
- The marks in the LLB degree should be less than 55% marks.
- The candidate must be eligible for the Bar Council of India.

Age Limit for JAG Entry:
There is also some certain age for applying for the JAG entry:
- The age of the candidate should not be less than 21 yrs old.
- And should not be more than 27 yrs old. (21 yrs to 27yrs old).
How to apply for Army JAG Entry:
To apply for the Indian Army any vacancy, A candidate will have to go the official website of the Indian Army. To for this too. follow the following steps given below:
- Click on this link joinindianarmy.nic.in
- Check entries for officers, click on Apply/Login.
- Fill the registration form. Click on the submit button/ OK submit.
- After this, you will get a Login ID and Password.
- Now you can log in through that ID and Password. Login to the account.
- Follow the instructions list and fill up your basic details.
- Fill the form carefully and attach all the documents which are required.
- A minor mistake in the application form ca reject your form.
- Now submit the application after checking the entire application form again.
- Save the application and take printout of the application for future use.
How to prepare for this Exam:
To prepare for this exam, I think you must score better marks in graduation to get shortlisted for the SSB interview. If you have passed the Law Degree, check the previous year cut off and if you think that you can clear the Declared cutoff for the SSB Interview. You should start your preparation for the SSB Interview. The SSB interview is tougher than any written exam or interview in India.
For the SSB interview, join any of the Defence academies for the SSB interview which has an officer working with them giving training for the JAG entry, there is no written exam for this entry, so the question which would be asked in the SSB interview would be difficult.
