Rudram Anti Radiation Missile Successful Tested with Sukhoi by DRDO:
The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has developed New Missile for the Indian Air force. This Missile is named as ‘Rudram’. This is the country’s first indigenous Anti-Radiation missile for Indian Air Force that has been developed by DRDO. India on Friday successfully test-fired its indigenous ‘Rudram’ Anti-Radiation Missile from a Sukhoi-30 fighter aircraft off the east coast. The missile was test-fired at the integrated test range at Balasore in Odisha around 10:30 AM.

The defense minister said Congratulations to DRDO and other stakeholders for this remarkable achievement and also added that this New Generation Anti-Radiation Missile (Rudram-1) is an India’s first indigenous anti-radiation missile developed by DRDO India for Indian Air Force.

Further, the DRDO added that The missile is integrated on Sukhoi Su-30MKI fighter aircraft as a launch platform. It has the capability of varying ranges based on launch conditions and soon this new generation anti-radiation missile will be the part of the tactical weaponry of the Indian Air Force.
About the IAF Rudram Missile:
This new-generation anti-radiation missile with a strike range of around 100 to 150 km is the first indigenous air-to-ground missile developed by the DRDO, after the supersonic BrahMos. The single-stage missile weighs 140 kg and is powered by a dual-pulsed solid rocket motor. This missile will provide air superiority, tactical capability for the Indian Air Force (IAF) fighter aircraft.
Defence Minister launches DISC (Defence India startup challenge)
This first-of-its-kind missile in the IAF arsenal and can also be integrated with Mirage 2000, Jaguar, HAL Tejas, and HAL Tejas Mark 2 in the future. This missile uses a pre-fragmented warhead with an optical proximity fuze. The home-grown missile is expected to create a surveillance gap in the enemy territory. The Indian Air Force is also integrating the Brahmos supersonic cruise missile on over 40 Sukhoi fighter jets which are aimed at bolstering the overall combat capability of the force.
