OTA Gaya Passing Out Parade 2019
The Indian Army got 84 newly trained officers from Officers Training Academy or OTA at Gaya, Bihar. It was held on 08th June 2019. It was the 15th OTA Gaya Passing Out Parade which was held with traditional as well as spectacular military regalia and splendour. Among 84 cadets, 66 become Indian Army officers. They will join their respective allotted technical units across the country. They were the part of technical entry scheme (TES-33) batch in which they gained entry via the coveted SSB exam after completing Intermediate studies.
Earlier, they had completed a six-month course at the academy and sent to military engineering colleges, including Military College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering at Secunderabad, Military College of Telecommunication Engineering at Mhow and College of Military Engineering in Pune in order to complete their engineering degree. OTA Gaya Passing out Parade was conducted on Saturday after completion of their six-month course after engineering.
Rest of 18 officers was Indian Army Jawan who had cracked SSB exam in order to become officers after gaining entry at OTA. They were part of the 42nd batch of special commissioner officers’ course passing from the academy, which was raised on 18th July 2011. Apart from this, 62 more cadets proceed to several engineering colleges to study for three years before returning to the academy again.
Indian Army’s eastern command’s general officer commanding in Chief Lieutenant General Major Mukund Naravane was the reviewing officer of the parade. OTA Commandant Lieutenant General Sunil Srivastava was also reviewing the OTA Gaya Passing Out Parade.
Naravane awarded Sword of Honour and gold medal to wing cadet captain Kulvinder Singh. On the other hand, the silver medal was awarded to wing cadet captain Chandan Kumar, whereas Bronze medal to wing cadet quartermaster Neeraj Kumar according to the merit. The silver medal for standing first in the order of merit in SCO course was awarded to academy cadet adjutant Anil Kumar. He also awarded Chief of Army Staff banner in OTA Gaya Passing Out Parade for spring term 2019 for best overall performance as a company to Gurez Company.
